Taking That First Step....
Last month, I wrote about Women's Voice - Women's Choices.
Two weeks ago, the voices of women in Manifesting a Meaningful Life were
raised in the discovery of their reason for being alive. Next week at Oceanstone,
more women will gather for Leadership
Redefined - Reclaimed - and all that it represents in their creating
and manifesting meaingful lives for themselves and those with whom they engage.
At the end of October, more women will gather at the Program Centre in Kanata
to discover just how far they can press the edges of their own limitations.
All that, in just one month...
Women have a lot to say. Women are also the key to redefining culture. These women in my life and others, are courageous and willing to be seen for the visionaries they are. This is not always easy, it's not always fun and it is absolutely essential to our evolution. Lucky for us all there are also many more times when engaging in this process is full of adventure, belly laughs and a sense of our own magnificence!
Of all ages and from a variety of professions; drawing on a wealth of insight, awareness and the experience that is the natural harvest of a life well lived; blending cultures, creeds and their corresponding freedoms and constraints, these women see through eyes that are not clouded by the deep sleep of the culture but have become opened and awake to the new culture that is ready to be birthed.
Whether in print or on CD, the voices of these women tell their story, decloak
and reveal a deeper truth we've long been taught to mask: their unwillingness
to be silent paves the way for all of us to consider a different way of thinking...
of speaking... of behaving... all of which culminate in the creation of a different
world.
We don't determine to change the world. We become determined to be a living expression of the truth of who we are and the world changes, all by itself.
Stop for a moment... and consider: when was the last time you allowed yourself
to challenge your own reality? Reality, like truth, is maleable. Perhaps you're
ready to discover that for yourself.
Open your ears to new conversations that may startle you... or irritate you...
or enthrall you with their potential. Open your mind to new contexts for living;
to perspectives and frameworks that can transform your life in a single moment...
in a single breath. Let yourself bear witness to the strength, courage and
vulnerability that it takes to decloak and, in that moment, find your own.
Open a space in your day to invite and allow new information, new insights
and new potential to touch your way of moving through your world.
It does not have to be hard or complicated or expensive. It can be as easy
as popping a CD into the player as you drive to work. Or loading your iPod
with a variety of conversations on the topics that pique your interest. Take
the time to browse our Storefront and explore the
written and voice products from more than 20 different women - each with a
strong mind, a brave heart and a voice that is willing to be heard.
Although waking up from the deep coma of enculturation does not require a lot of time, effort and/or money, it does demand that you go beyond thinking about it, and talking about it, and engage!
Do something now! Read a book that is different from what you usually read. Listen to a CD that is not intended to soothe you or block out your life but one that is intended to awaken you to something long forgotten. Start your own blog and begin to allow what YOU have to say....your thoughts and discoveries and intentions...to be revealed to the world. Show up for your own life and...who knows?...you may be delighted by who you're capable of becoming.
